In Haunted 3D Mahakshay Chakraborty (son of Mithun Chakraborty) lands up at a haunted bungalow because of a business deal. Gradually he gets to know about a murky story around the bungalow where an innocent girl’s spirit is imprisoned. Rest of the story deals with how the hero saves the girl from the bad guy (ghost).
First half of the movie is very slow; director has spent at least 40 minutes establishing the fear factorand characters. All one see/hear till interval are windows breaking, fusing bulbs, sound of glass shattering, etc. However the movie picks pace post interval and the last 40 minutes are really adventurous when Mahakshay and heroin faces the ghost.
Though not many of you might know about this, but “Haunted 3D” is not the debut film of Mithun’s son, rather it was Jimmy (at that time he was known as Mimoh Chakraborty), however in comparison to his performance in that film, Mahakshay (then Mimoh) have performed really well. But the ordinary script of Haunted has made it look like a regular horror film.
To save the heroin, a hero travels 80 years back in time is an extremely clichéd formula used by Hollywood Science Fiction films in late 70s. However in Haunted Vikram Bhatt (director) doesn’t even take pains to explain so as to how his hero manages to travel in time.
Though Haunted couldn’t convert me in a fan, still if you definitely want to watch it then I would advise you to experience it in 3D only, as things coming out of screen at you would be the only part which you will like most, we at FilmiTadka give it 2 out of five stars.
